The "Aurora" build is up to six weeks behind "Nightly" and offers functionality that has undergone basic testing. The most recent available build is called "Nightly Builds" and offers the latest, untested features and updates. In April 2011, the development process was split into several "channels", each working on a build in a different stage of development. If you’re been gift shopping on a shared home computer, you may want to use private browsing to cover this up so that the person you’re buying for doesn’t see what you’ve got them. While there are many uses for this that we won’t go into here, it does also have some day to day functions.

Private windows are another feature of Mozilla Firefox, which let you browse the internet without Firefox saving your search history or websites visited. You can also customize your browser to add and remove buttons from the top bar. Everything is easy to find, but there is essentially no clutter on your screen until you need it to be there. We’re generally a fan of decluttered interfaces on our web browsers, so Mozilla Firefox gets a big thumbs up from us, and we’re especially fond of the purple color palette that Mozilla has adopted. If you’re a regular Google Chrome user then Firefox will feel incredibly familiar to you, as it apes the minimalist design that Google pioneered years ago. You’ll also have an icon on your desktop. When it’s finished, Mozilla Firefox will be installed on your computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone and it should open the browser window. The installation process is automatic once you run the file, and it only takes a few moments.

The file should download automatically, but depending on your current browser you may be asked whether you want to save or run the file - either option is fine, but we’d recommend saving it to your downloads folder and opening it once it finishes downloading.
